LeeAnn Schnell Young, 87, of Alachua Fl, passed away at home after a long illness on February 23, 2026. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Olean NY. She moved to Jamestown NY when she was in High School where she met her husband, Gary Frederick Young, a naval military man. Together they had six children.

She is predeceased by her parents Leo George Schnell and Norma Carr Schnell, two sisters and one brother, her husband Gary Frederick Young, and a grandson, William Andrew Beruck.

She is survived by her six children, Judy Salamon, Michelle Edwards, Gary Young, Jill Axe, Heather Andrews and Kevin (Stacey) Young. Grandchildren, Scott Hartley, Amy Edwards, James Edwards, Stephen Young, Brooke Young, Eric Beruck, Katelyn (Kyle) Cowan, Jeff Young, Norina Young, Ariel Young, Megan (Dereck) Wynne and Shane (Dara) Young, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She loved spending time with family. She enjoyed holidays and family celebrations. She loved her cats and to crochet. She was kind and loving and created bonds with her grandchildren. She taught them to swim and took them out often before she became ill.

Mom, thank you for your love, your time, your sacrifices and your patience. You have created a legacy in your family. We will always think of you and love you.
