Leinani Luella Aina, 85, of Hilo, HI, died at the Hilo Benioff Medical Center on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born in Hilo, HI and was a retired recreation director with the County of Hawaii Parks and Recreation. She was also a member of the Keaukaha Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Hula Halau O Kawananakoa. Friends may call at the Hilo Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1373 Kilauea Ave., on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at the Alae Cemetery Mormon Section. The family requests casual attire. She is survived by her: Sons, Daniel (Candace) Aina of Hilo, HI, Dave Duke (Rosieline) Aina of Hilo, HI and Hewlen Aina of Oahu; Daughter, Ululani Tammy Evangelista of Hilo, HI; Hana'i daughter, Edwina Kukahiko of Hilo, HI; Brothers, Walter Clyde Ahuna of Hilo, HI and George "Chiefy" Ahuna of Coos Bay, Oregon; Sister, Erma Jean "Wanda" (Patrick) Cardines of Hilo, HI; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
