Leiselotte "Lilo" Hare, 95 years of Sykesville, passed away at home on Monday, December 29, 2025.

She was born on January 7, 1930, in Manheim, Germany to the late Workmeister Friedrich Philipp Schneider and Rosa Anna (Kohlschmitt) Schneider. She was the wife of the late William Thomas Hare.

Lilo grew up in Germany and as with many families were separated during World War II between East and West Germany. She came to the United States in 1957. She worked at the former McCrory's Drug Store and then for Safeway for many years retiring as a deli manager. She was raised in Ellicott City then many years in Ellicott City before moving to her home in Sykesville. Lilo loved flowers and gardening and making ceramics with her daughter Maryon.

She is survived by children Maryon Johnson of New Windsor, William Frederick Hare of Sykesville and Cornelia Schulze (Jack) of Sykesville, grandchildren: Jennifer Furey, Jillian Nicholls, Steven Schulze, Bradley Schulze, Wendy Brookshire Walsh, Jennifer Bungay and Phillip Matthew Hare Yates. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

Lilo was predeceased by her sisters Margot and Geisela.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge.
