Lela May Pope

I have known Mrs. Pope since I was a young child, attending the same church in Detroit. She and my mother were good friends and we kept in touch after my mother died, first with her typed letters and later an annual phone call or two. Her Christian faith carried her through much heartache, and I know she is at peace in heavenly arms. She carried burdens only women of her generation could fully understand. I loved her.
