Leland LaSelle Robinson, 78, graduated this life and returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 2, 2025 in Clinton, Utah just one week after his wife, JoAnne. He was born on February 23, 1947 to Leland Claude Robinson, Jr. and Marjorie Alberta Clark in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Leland grew up in Colonia Dublan and graduated from Juarez Academy. He attended college in the U.S., majoring in Spanish. He earned his teaching certificate and worked as a teacher, then had a long career with Defense Logistics Agency at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill Air Force Base.
He married JoAnne Coon on July 12, 1979 in Provo, Utah. They were later sealed for eternity in the Manti Utah Temple. Lee was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He was an Eagle Scout and served in scouting leadership. He and JoAnne completed a service mission in the Ogden, Utah mission in 2014-2015.
Lee was very handy and loved to “tinker” out in his garage or barn and could usually find a way to fix just about anything. He was very resourceful and creative. He had two beloved mules, Foxy and Annie, that he loved to train and ride and he really enjoyed teaching others about the strengths of mules. He loved to sing and play his guitar for his family and others. He loved the mountains, being outside, and had many good hunting stories and memories. He always enjoyed watching a ball game, tennis match, or a good western.
His testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, was a treasure to him. We are forever grateful for his love, support, lessons, and his testimony that he shared with us throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, Lee (Alexi) Robinson, Jr., Jac (Melanie) Lindell, DeAnna (Jason) Fife, Erin (Alex) Heslop, and Jeff Robinson; siblings, Kirt (Marilyn) Robinson, Dave (Tresa) Robinson, Bonnie (Mike) Sessions, Ken (Karen) Robinson, Randy (Karen) Robinson, Brad (Peggie) Robinson, Margie Robinson, Bill (Paula) Robinson; eighteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, beloved in-laws, and we can't leave out Foxy and Annie.
Preceded in death by his spouse, JoAnne Coon Robinson; his parents, Leland and Marjorie Robinson; nephew Jay Robinson; niece Brandi Nielsen.
Funeral services for Lee and his wife JoAnne will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Freedom Ward, 4675 W. 5500 S., Hooper. Friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, West Haven Cemetery.
