LeMarcus Dewayne Barker

Mr. LeMarcus Dewayne Barker who was so fondly known throughout his life as "Cheesey" was born July 24, 1983, to Melba Barker Griffin and Plangiman Henry, Sr. in Athens, Texas. He attended Athens ISD and graduated from Athens High School, Class of 2002, attended Trinity Valley Community College and Lincoln Technical Institute in Grand Prairie TX.

LeMarcus accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church, Athens TX. He was a member of the choir and Young Peoples Department at Allen Chapel.

LeMarcus attended Athens ISD where he graduated from Athens High School, Class of 2002. During these years LeMarcus played football, baseball and power lifting. He also attended Trinity Valley Community College. LeMarcus worked in retail for numerous years until his health prevented him from working. He enjoyed his past time fishing, riding horses and was an avid sports fan. He not only enjoyed sports but even participated and coached in the Athens TX Youth Football League. LeMarcus loved people and always had a story for you. He loved being "Uncle Cheesey" to his nieces and nephews.

LeMarcus was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents, Marion "Bigeon" and Joyce "Granny" Barker, stepfather Ollie Griffin Jr., and step- grandmother Augustine Sowers. Lemarcus leaves to mourn, mother Melba Barker Griffin, father Plangiman Henry, Sr. Three brothers, Phillip Griffin, Plangiman Henry Jr. and Plandrick Jackson. Five Sisters, Hollie Griffin, Plantrese Jackson, Planiesha Jackson, Plandreika Jackson, and Plangielle Jackson. Very special nieces and nephews as LeMarcus pride himself on being "Uncle Cheesey" proud of them all.

LeMarcus also leaves to mourn his aunts and uncles, other relatives and special friends whom he had his own personal relationships with.
