Cory Lemke, age 19, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Sheldon. Rev. Marvin Lindley officiating.
Burial in East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, from 1-9 P.M. with the family present from 7-8:30 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Cory M. Lemke was born on January 11, 1987, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was the son of Mark and MaDonna "Maud" (Van Steenbergen) Lemke. Cory lived his entire life in Sheldon, Iowa, where he attended school and graduated from Sheldon High School in 2005. He spent his freshman year at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
Cory enjoyed sports, wrestling, and especially golf. He also excelled in academics and was a member of the National Honor Society. He enjoyed cars, being with his family and friends, and golfing with his dad, his "Best Buddy".
He enjoyed his work at Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon. Cory will be remembered as a loving and giving person. He loved life and always smiled.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sheldon, Sheldon Golf and Country Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Cory passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents: Mark and Maud Lemke of Sheldon, IA; one sister: Kelli Jo Lemke of Sheldon, IA; his grandmother: Toni Van Steenbergen of Sheldon, IA; his grandfather: Louis Lemke of Sibley, IA; promised friend: Whitney; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Nicole Lemke; grandfather: Adrian "Bud" Van Steenbergen; grandmother: Carol Lemke.
