Lena Marie (Poggi) Goletz, 97, of Peru, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.
Public Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Valentine's Church, Peru with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Private burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Granville. Public visitation will be held from 11-11:50 AM on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Mrs. Goletz was born on May 22, 1928 in Mark, Illinois to Tom and Yolanda (Piana) Poggi. She married Leon Casmir Goletz on July 2, 1949 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in LaSalle. Lena worked as an X-Ray Technician at St. Mary's Hospital in LaSalle and at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of St. Valentine's Church in Peru and was treasurer of their Circle Club for four years.
Survivors include her sister, Diane Schlenker; her former daughter-in-law, Yucui Goletz-Weese; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon; and her son, Paul Goletz.
