Lena "Betty" Pinnell

Lena Elizabeth "Betty" Pinnell, age 86 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Viva Assisted Living. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Decherd on November 15, 1939. Before her retirement, Betty was employed for over forty years as a floral designer in Winchester at local florists: Billie's Flowers, Diane's Flowers, and Spencer's Flowers. Fondly known as Granny to all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially playing with her great-grandchildren. A social butterfly, Betty, looked forward to her Thursday lunch date with friends, playing Bingo, and going to Vegas to meet up with friends. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and watching Hallmark movies, particularly enjoying the Christmas ones, and the Game Show Network. Her generous heart and kind nature was evident to all, as she was always willing to give a lending hand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis "Jack" and Ruby Denney; husband, Wilbur Lee Pinnell; daughter, Renee Pinnell; and siblings, Marie Earp and Helen Blevins. Betty is survived by her loving daughter, LeAnn (Allen) Zimmerman; grandchildren, William Denney (Katelyn) Zimmerman and Julia (Kyle) Young; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Jack Zimmerman and Amelia Young; brothers, Don Denney and Roy Denney; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
