Lenchy Dajuste Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Island Memorial Funeral Home on Feb. 16, 2026.

Lenchy Dajuste was born on June 19, 1965, to parents of Daniel Raphael Dajuste (deceased) and Ocianie Isaac Dajuste (alive).

She began her early school years at the Salem School in Desdunes, then at the Adler Volny Classical School in Gonaïves, and later in Port-au-Prince, at the Metropolitan College, for her secondary studies. She then became a preschool teacher at Bon Samaritan school in Port-au-Prince.

In 1989, Lenchy emigrated to the United States, specifically to New Jersey in search of a better life, while maintaining the faith, wisdom, and values that had been instilled in her. While in the United States, she continued her studies and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her love for nursing grew as she felt deeply moved by the needs of those around her. She always believed that true fulfilment was not in being served, but rather in serving.

Lenchy was the epitome of strength and resilience to everyone who knew her. She was always willing to extend kindness and sound advice to her family, and friends. Her sense of style and love for decoration was inspiring and admired by many. She managed to catch all eyes in a room with her graceful presence and elegance.

She loved fashion, not out of vanity but because she believed in presenting herself with dignity, confidence, and intention. For her, dressing was not a routine, but rather an expression. What made her truly beautiful wasn't the clothes she wore, but the way she wore them, with confidence and self-respect.

Lenchy was a woman of deep faith. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she passed on these values to her children. She dedicated her life to being a selfless mother. Through her independence and hard work, she made sure her children got everything they needed. She was a determined woman, always making sure that everything she loved was taken care of and supported. Even in illness, she remained firm in the faith, while hoping in God's will. Suddenly, on Friday, February 6, 2026, Lenchy left for eternity. She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, free from all pain and suffering, leaving behind a legacy of love, cherished forever by her family, friends, and colleagues.

Lenchy is survived by her loving daughters, Getchen Thompson, Tamara Thompson, Sarah Thompson and her granddaughter, So'Marah L. Delome. She is also survived by her siblings: Guirlaine Dajuste Ceus, Fedlyn Dajuste, Oslaine C. Dajuste, Pastor Denege Dajuste, Schiller Dajuste, Chrisler Dajuste, Ronald Dajuste, and Ylfossa Dajuste. She leaves behind uncle and aunts Rev. Pastor Joseph Dajuste, Degrace Dajuste Saintinor, Mrs. Pierre Isaac Ovil, and her nephews and nieces, her sisters-in-law (Nadia Th. Dajuste, Josette Vernet Dajuste, Josianne Jacques Dajuste) and brothers-in-law (Frederic Ceus, Wilfred Calixte), and her cousins, godchildren, friends, and countless others impacted by this grief.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dina Thompson; her son, Detchler Thompson; and her father, Daniel Raphael Dajuste and her brother, Phaniel Dajuste.

Lenchy, though you are no longer with us, your memory will live on. Your love, kindness, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
