Lenilynn Smith

Lenilynn Smith, 84, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away, Thursday, August 29, 2024. Leni was born on January 31, 1940, and was the daughter of Howard V. and Phyllis A. (Thomas) Jacobi. Leni was a 1958 graduate from the former DeVilbiss High School, where she met the love of her life, John A. Smith. They married on April 18, 1958. She was employed as the financial secretary for the former Augsburg Lutheran Church in Toledo for 24 years. Leni was an active member of Christ the Ling Lutheran Church in Lambertville, Michigan. She loved traveling, especially to Maine and San Franscico. Leni also enjoyed reading, fishing, sewing, flea markets, garage sales and enjoying a good glass of wine in the evening. However, her greatest passion were her family and church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John; daughter, Cyndy (Steve) Higgins; grandchildren, Brittney Tormoehlen, Jacob (Heather) Higgins, Heather (Jonathan) Barton. Nicholas Smith and Michael Smith; great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Claire, Lucylyn, Isabel, Nathanial & Lillian. Leni was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jeffery Smith; brother, Thomas Jacobi; sisters, Joann Freels and Dolores Himelhoch and step-father, Glen Windisch.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd, (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm.
