Lennon Mann, 56, of Hartford departed this life peacefully on Tuesday August 25, 2015. He was born on December 3, 1958 to Dorothy and the late Lovely J. Mann Sr. He was educated in the Hartford Public School system and graduated from Bulkeley High class of 1976. He then went on to attend the University of Connecticut where he received his BA in Accounting. Lennon was currently employed with the City of Hartford in the finance department. His career began at the University of Connecticut Financial Aid office while a student at the university. He was also employed over the many years by CBT, Coleco, Pratt & Whitney, Aetna, Hamilton Standard, UTC in various accounting positions. Lennon was certified as a Certified Public Accountant through the accounting firm of Coopers & Hybrand. Through the years, Lennon was active in different community organizations. Lennon was an active member of the CHPEA Union serving as its Recording Secretary. One organization that was near and dear to his heart was being a mentor in the Big Brother, Big Sister program. Lennon was also a sports enthusiast. He supported all of his nieces and nephews in all of their sport endeavors. All though Lennon did not have any kids of his own, he always offered unwavering support to his nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed by them. Lennon is survived by his mother Dorothy Mann of Hartford, five brothers, Willie Mann of Hartford, Lovely J. Mann Jr (Yvette) of Hartford, Ronald Mann (Carmen) of Windsor, Henry Mann (Patricia) of Bloomfield, Harry Riley (Cathy) of Snellville, GA and three sisters Cynthia Mann and Beverly Mann both of Hartford, Edna Jolly (John Henry) of Ellenwood, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and god children. Lennon touched us all in a very special way with his love, joy, strength, wisdom, generosity, peacefulness, meekness, kindness, humor and loyalty! As we continue to navigate our lives without his presence, he will truly be missed and always remembered.
