Minister Lenora Graves Hendrix

1974 - 2022

Minister Lenora Graves Hendrix ended her earthly journey on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in Reidsville, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Spirit and Truth Church of Worship, 1731 Freeway Drive, Suite A, Reidsville, NC with family visitation one half hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Greenview Cemetery and public viewing will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
Minister Lenora Graves Hendrix the daughter of Edward Leon Graves and Beulah Idella Brown Graves was born on February 9, 1974, in Reidsville, North Carolina. A lifelong resident of Reidsville, she was educated in the public schools of Rockingham County and was a 1992 graduate of Rockingham County Senior High School in Reidsville, NC. She also attended and received certifications from Rockingham Community College in Wentworth. NC. She was employed with Henniges Automotive in Reidsville.
Lenora's favorite hobby was reading. She loved singing, bowling, and chewing ice. Lenora gave her life to Jesus by way of reading a book called "Left Behind" and was determined that when Jesus returns, she would be going with Him. She was baptized at Evangel Fellowship Church and was filled with the Holy Ghost which led her to go to school to learn more about God. In 2002, she graduated from Jacksonville Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology Degree in Biblical Studies.
As she began her ministry journey, she worked with the Mother's Day Out program, sang with various choirs and praise teams and worked with children in Bible studies. She also served as a member of Benaja's Evangelism Team. Lenora loved evangelizing about the love and goodness of God with anyone who would listen and many who wouldn't.
In 2018, Lenora joined Spirit and Truth Church of Worship in Reidsville, where she remained until she answered her heavenly call. Serving faithfully, she became a fireball for Jesus. She served as Praise Team leader, Intercessory Prayer leader, Adjutant, and was an awesome Prayer Warrior. Minister Lenora shared the call of God pulling on her heart strings to share the gospel. On August 11, 2019, she preached her initial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel through Spirit and Truth Church of Worship and the NC First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC International.
She was preceded in death by: grandfather, John Bud Brown; grandmother, Gladys Cunningham Graves; father-in-law, Willie Womack; three aunts – Loula Mae Brown Scales, Mary Alverson and Gereta Graves; and one uncle – Charles Brown.
Lenora believes that each one of us is an original, never a copy and that all of our gifts were tailor made for Kingdom purpose. With God, all things are possible. Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: beloved husband of ten years, Jaquay Hendrix, three daughters – Paisley Hall (Christian Goins), Sunetra Hendrix and Destiny Hendrix, all of Reidsville, NC; one grandchild – Y'Isarael Goins of Reidsville, NC; parents -Edward Leon and Beulah Idella Brown Graves, of Reidsville, NC; two sisters – Sheila Bethel (Victor) and Sabrina Stalvey (Sammy Dickerson), all of Reidsville, NC; one brother - Leon Graves Jr., of Reidsville; aunts – Stella Cunningham (Lee), of Asheboro, NC, Josephine Cummings (Lorenza), of Asheboro, NC, Margie Graves, of Eden, NC, Gloria Graves, Marvine Graves, and Marion Graves, all of Reidsville, NC; uncles – Michael Brown (Louise), of Los Angeles, CA, John Brown, of Reidsville, NC, Marcellus Graves, of Eden, NC, Wallace Graves (Robin), of Madison, NC and Joey Graves, of Reidsville, NC; mothers-in-law – Regina Hendrix, of Greensboro, NC and Vernia Womack, of Browns Summit, NC; father in-law – Kenny Hall, of Greensboro, NC; sisters-in-law – Tanneesha Hendrix, of Greensboro, NC, Vernita Womack (David Zeigler), of Brown Summit, NC, Ashley Hall, of Greensboro, NC, Tiffany Washington (Tony), of Greensboro, NC and Jordan Hall, of Greensboro, NC; brothers-in-law, Antonia Hall, Quintas Hall and Stacey Hall, all of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
