Lenora Herring

Lenora Herring, 78, of Syracuse, passed away on December 27, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1947, in Ithaca, NY
Lenora devoted her life to caring for others. She served as a foster parent to many children over the years and made a lasting impact on countless lives. She was also employed for many years as a bus driver with Peace, Inc., where she provided transportation services for the Head Start program.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Herring; her son, James Herring; and her parents, Paul and Josephine Forest.
She is survived by her children: Glynis Forest; Johnnie (Paulete) Richardson; Lorraine (Daniel) Richardson-Thomas; Labrina (Joshua) Forest; Emmanuel Forest; and Terrance Forest. She is also survived by her siblings: Elizabeth Small, Valorie Allen, Karen Forest-Barnes, and Allen Forest Jr.
Lenora leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Latwanda Reynolds, Shakira Richardson-Thomas, Kenya Richardson, Serinity Williams, James Williams, Madison Williams, Gloria Forest, Carter Williams, Quay Forest, and Reesha Forest; as well as 12 great-grandchildren: Yahaira Reynolds, Davion Reynolds, Dyson Reynolds, Jaki Reynolds, Tymir Battle, Mariana Stewart, Taylor Marie Walker, Sariyah Dowdell, Kaleeya Davis, Brandon Davis, and Julian Davis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
