Lenora Penner Obituary

She graduated from Montezuma schools and later attended Hesston College.
Lenora was a member of the Bethany Mennonite Church in Rich Hill, MO.
She was united in marriage to Earvey Schmidt on July 20, 1952. He died on April 2, 1956. Lenora married Stanley Penner on July 14, 1957 in Montezuma, KS. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2025 after 67 years of marriage.
Lenora was a devoted homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Charles (Lois) Penner of Macomb, MO, and Brent (Rita) Penner of Moundridge, KS; daughters, Carolyn (Paul) Leatherman of Walker, MO, and Janice (Rene) Penner of Welsford, NS; daughter-in-law, Avis Penner of Jamesport, MO; special family whom Dad and Mom called children and grandchildren, Pablo and Chely and family; special friend, Anne Eason; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marjorie (Lincoln) Koehn and Beatrice Jantz, both of Montezuma.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earvey Schmidt and Stanley Penner; son, Milton Penner; and four sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Moundridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at Bethany Mennonite Church, Rich Hill, MO. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, at the church. Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, MO will be handling the Missouri arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Moundridge Manor in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
