Lenore Reid Carlson

In Memoriam Lenore Reid Carlson passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 16, 2011. She was born in Manti, Utah, on October 31, 1914. She was the seventh child of Edward E. Reid and Izenna Anderson. She was welcomed home by her beloved husband Ivan, parents, and numerous family members. As a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father, she left behind an enduring pioneer heritage and a legacy of faith, testimony, and selfless service to all who knew her. She grew up in Manti, where her service ethic was lovingly inherited and amplified throughout her life. She was sealed to her high school sweetheart on June 6, 1934, in the Manti Temple, which her father helped to build. They were blessed with 4 children. They moved to Spanish Fork in 1951, where they made their home. She served as a teacher and leader in numerous stake and ward callings throughout her entire life. Multiple lives have been blessed by her devoted service. She is survived by her children: Sheryl (Glade) Barney of West Jordan, Reid (Elaine) Carlson of Mapleton, Jan (Alan) Newman of Ely, NV, Dale (Bea) Carlson of West Valley City. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, grand daughter Ruth Newman and a great-grandson Ben Nelson. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the LDS Mapleton 3rd Ward Building at 970 No. 400 East in Mapleton, UT, at 11 a.m. Viewings will be held at Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. and at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to her funeral services. Interment will be in the Manti, Utah Cemetery.
