Leo Clausen Obituary

Leo C. Clausen Sr., 85, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was born on March 18, 1940, in Napoleon to the late Albert and Lorena (Junge) Clausen.

Leo graduated from Deshler High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. On June 24, 1972, he married Juanita (Bauer) Clausen, who preceded him in death on September 5, 2024.

For more than 40 years, Leo worked at Tenneco in Napoleon and drove bus for the Napoleon City Schools. He loved the outdoors and spent many happy days hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, the Napoleon American Legion, and the Napoleon VFW, and a former member of the Napoleon AMVETS.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Alicia (Terry) Haines, Tammy Porter, Leo (Jeanne') Clausen Jr., Ruthann (Mike) Bowen, and daughter-in-law, Deborah; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, granddaughter, Shannon, and sisters, Ruth Kosher and Esther Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, where military honors will be rendered by the Napoleon American Legion. Please join the family for food and fellowship back at Emanuel Lutheran Church following the interment.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, and on Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Emanuel Lutheran Church or DaVita Dialysis. Online condolences may be shared at www.rodenbergergray.com
