Leo Miller Kellam

Leo Miller Kellam, aka "Red", "Sandman" departed this life on March 3, 2026 at his home in Nassawadox, Virginia surrounded by his family.

Leo was born May 1, 1952 to the late James and Alice Kellam in Nassawadox, Virginia.

Leo accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined Bethel Baptist Church, Franktown, Virginia.

Leo was educated in the Northampton County School System, and graduated from NCHS in 1970.

He married Helen Jean Burton and their union was blessed with seven children.

Leo worked at the Bayshore Concrete for over 30 years as an Iron Worker, doing several jobs to include Union Steward for the Iron Workers.

After retirement, Leo and his best bud, Frizzell Burton started farming together until his health didn't allow him.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James Satchell and sister, Jean Atkins.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Helen Kellam; five daughters; four sons; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Kellam(Darlene); five sisters, Michele Gaskins(Edward), Paula Ibrahim(Ibrahim); Marylou Gunter (Woodrow); Juestine(Lynwood) Custis; Sherneida Brown; sister-in-law, Patricia Satchell; three aunts, Catherine Kellam, Patricia Fisher and Erma Weatherly; three uncles, Charlie Tankard, William Tankard and George Tankard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
