Earlier today

I have known Leo for the better part of a year, which is not a long time. In that year, however, I got to know a well-traveled and interesting man. I was introduced to Leo through his friend and former colleague, Kieran Cullinan. Kerry presented Leo as a nice man that easily outworked people much younger than him through sheer determination, a solidified work ethic and pride in what he did. There were so many people that crossed into Leo's life that it was hard to keep track sometimes. One thing was abundantly clear to me, an outsider with a great admiration; Leo was a genuinely wonderful person who could light up a room regardless of the people he shared it it with. My first encounter of him was at the Glass Cat. I had been invited to breakfast along with several other people that Leo had worked with during his time at the IRS. I found him charming and hilarious. I walked in, the first of the party to arrive, and found him deep in a Bloody Mary. He marveled at how good they made them and that the bacon was a nice touch. I chuckled. My association with him was limited to breakfast and lunch outings. He had a lot to say on a variety of subjects and always made sure to sneak in a line about his Hotrod Lincoln. I always found that amusing when he would say things like that. One of the things that is fascinating about time and its ability to be relative is how transcendent some people can be. Leo certainly was not burdened by age or time. He had a youthful charm and an amazing outlook. I will always cherish the encounters I've had and I know that everyone in Leo's life will nod in agreement.

Leo was a true gentleman and a good friend. We will miss him. All of his "breakfast buddies" will miss him. We are so sorry for your loss of a wonderful father, grandfather & brother.
