Penfield: Monday, January 27th, 2025 at the age of 95. Leo is predeceased by his parents, Leo J. and Magdalen Schmitt. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Beatrice; son, Thomas (Carol) Schmitt; daughter, Barbara (John DeRosa) Thomas; grandchildren, Cole, Vaughn, Reed Schmitt and Eric (Lindsay) Thomas; great-granddaughter, Hayden Thomas; sisters, Dorothy Schulz and Rita (Richard) Snyder; many nieces, nephews and several in-laws.
Leo was a veteran of the Korean War and a long time employee of Eastman Kodak. "The family would like to give a special thanks to all the caregivers at Rochester General Hospital, URMC geriatrics and Aaron Manor for the wonderful care they showed to Leo.
Leo's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 31st 10am at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church.The family will greet friends from 9:30-10am at the church prior to Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to St. Ambrose Church.
