Leodia F. Shrewsbury, 97, of Beaver, West Virginia, passed away July 27, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and caregivers.
Leodia was born, February 2, 1928, to the late Walter and Elsie St. Clair of Beaver, WV.
She married the love of her life, Rev. Roy E. Shrewsbury, on December 25, 1945. They were married for 79 years.
She was a housewife and former employee of Beckley Manufacturing for many years. She was the organist at Spoken Word Tabernacle until poor health required her to retire.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Elsie St. Clair, brother’s Elmer St. Clair, Wesley St. Clair, Howard St. Clair, Paul St. Clair and a sister Margie Massey. She leaves behind 2 children, Patricia Sherman of Beaver, WV and Roy Shrewsbury II of Daniels, WV. She has 4 grandchildren, Dena Caldwell and husband Jerry of Winston Salem, NC, Charity Burton and husband Samuel of Radford, VA, Roy Shrewsbury, III of Daniels, WV and James Shrewsbury of Pulaski, VA. She has 2 great grandchildren, Taylor Shrewsbury of Wytheville, VA and Quinn Burton of Radford, VA.
The family wishes to thank her kind and faithful caregivers, her family in Christ from Spoken Word Tabernacle, Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their amazing care and end of life support.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Spoken Word Tabernacle 100 Scott Ridge Road, Beaver, WV on Saturday August 2nd , 2025 from 11am to 1pm. Funeral Services will be at Spoken Word Tabernacle at 1pm with Pastor Ron Lilly and Rev. Ivan England Officiating.
A burial service will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
