Leola Evans, 87, of Stockton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Leola was born April 20, 1938 in St Johns, Arizona to Walter Joseph & Leata Lee Jarvis. She spent her youth in St Johns, Arizona and later moved to Durango, Colorado where she went to high school and graduated from Durango High School. This is also where she met her future husband DeVon. Following high school, Leola attended cosmetology school and worked a number of years in that profession.

On August 14, 1963 Leola married Wilford DeVon Evans in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they had 4 children, Ranae (died at birth), Troy, Tessa, and Trent.

Leola loved raising her children and being very involved in their lives and sports, and this continued with her grandchildren. She was always concerned for others and making sure everyone was taken care of at family gatherings. She was home most of the years of raising her children but later worked for Casey's for 20 years and was also a manager for part of that time.

Leola is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through the years she served in the Relief Society Presidency, Primary Presidency, and Young Women Presidency. She also served as a Cub Scout Leader, and teacher to both children and youth. Her greatest legacy was her unwavering faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.

Leola is survived by her husband, Wilford DeVon Evans; sons, Troy DeVon Evans of Deming, New Mexico; Trent Regan (Mary) Evans of Richland, Missouri; daughter Tessa Amy (Randy) Mall of Stockton, Missouri; brother Walter Darrol Jarvis of Stockton, Missouri; sisters LaVelle Patterson of St Johns, Arizona; Maxine Barrett of Red Bluff, California; 12 grand-children; 7 great grandchildren and counting.

Leola is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ranae Leola Evans; sisters, Pauline Jarvis, Maurine Crosby.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Stockton, Missouri LDS Church, with Bishop Leroy Collinwood conducting. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, 306 S High Street in Stockton, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
