Leola Jane (Huff) Gibson, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on October 18, 2023. Leola was born November 11, 1941, in Bucklin, Missouri to Elmer and Helen Huff.
Leola was the middle child in her family and was a tomboy from an early age. She enjoyed anything outdoors, including gardening (especially roses and irises) and walking with friends. She preferred the sun to a rainy day and enjoyed the art of sunbathing. She looked forward to the holidays, especially Christmas, when she could enjoy the company of family and friends together in one place.
During her life, she volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Leader, a Room Mother and President of the William H. Johnson Elementary PTA. She was a former employee of BMA, Rival Manufacturing, and Marion Laboratories (where she worked on New Drug Applications and FDA Approvals). She retired from Marion Laboratories in 2005.
She was preceded in death by Helen Virginia and Elmer Raymond Huff (parents), Deanna Jean (Huff) Lisac (sister), Gerry Raymond Huff (brother), Ronald Lewis Davolt (first husband), Jerry Edward Gibson (second husband), and Jack Gibson (stepson).
Survivors include Jeff Davolt (son) and Michael Liu (son-in-law), Jennifer Baty (daughter) and Richard Baty (son-in-law), JoAnn Heck (stepdaughter) and Keith Heck (son-in-law), Jerry Owen Gibson (stepson), Judy Main (stepdaughter) and Ron Main (son-in-law), and Jerry Jr. and Jesse Gibson (grandchildren).
Services are in the care of Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64149 with services on Monday October 23, 2023, Visitation at 1pm with funeral at 2pm followed by the committal service at 3pm.
