Leola A. Kramer

Funeral services for Leola A. Kramer, 88, of Richmond, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Leola was born October 16, 1923 in New Braunfels to Conrad Carl Arlitt and Rieke Eckart Arlitt. She moved to Needville in 1936 and married Melvin Henry Kramer on October 20, 1948 at Immanuel E & R Church in Needville. She was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker until 1971 when she started working with the mentally retarded and physically handicapped which she continued until 1987. She was selected Teacher of the Year in 1984 for her dedication to the students. She was a long time member of the Countryside Club of Rosenberg. She was a devout Christian with deep spiritual understanding. She passed away July 31, 2012. Leola is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kramer; parents, Conrad and Rieke Arlitt; son, Mark Kramer; and sisters, Priscilla Forest, Olga Frenzel and Luella Frenzel. She is survived by her son, Gary Kramer and wife, Mary Ann, of Richmond; daughter, Janis Gallia and husband, Michael, of Seguin; grandchildren, Jeff Kramer of Richmond, Brian Gallia of Seguin and Justin Gallia of Austin; brothers, Eugene Arlitt of Needville and Howard Arlitt of Comfort; sister, Margaret Raesner of Rosenberg; sisters-in-law, Florence Kramer of Needville and Adella Jaloway of Conroe; along with other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will include Vernon Skotnik, Bobby Zwahr, Glen Jalowy, Shannon Frenzel, John Arlitt and Laughton Arlitt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Science Society, P. O.
