Leon Frank Braunagel

Leon Frank Braunagel, 93, passed away on the night of October 10th, 2025. He was born on October 29th, 1931 in Houston to Elizabeth and Frank Braunagel. He grew up working on their dairy farm with his mom, dad, sisters, and brothers. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1950. He went on to earn his BS in Accounting at Sam Houston State Teachers College. He also served in the US Army Reserves. Leon worked for Amoco Production Company for 35 years. He worked on the side as a football official, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Leon loved spending time with his family, water skiing, snow skiing, going to auctions, and taking road trips. He loved to visit all the historical points of interest and museums. His family was very important to him including his dogs and donkeys. Leon was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra, his sister, Pat, and brothers, Albert and Joe. He is survived by his wife, Claudette, his sister, Margaret, his daughters, Elaine, Nancy, and Cheryl, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A service will be held on October 17th at 11:00 am at Ave Maria Catholic Parish, 9056 East Parker Road, Parker, Colorado, 80138.
