Leon Charles Brown was born on June 22, 1943, to the union of Mabel Jackson and Willie Brown in Plant City, Florida. God called him home after a long battle with cancer on Friday, July 25, 2025. He passed very peacefully surrounded by his wife and members of Providence Hospice.

Leon gave his life to Christ at an early age. He joined the US Air Force at the age of seventeen. While serving 30 years in the military, he traveled to many places in the world. He was stationed in Holland, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Thailand, and while stationed in the US, he severed varies locations while stateside. His last stateside

location was Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, where he retired making Anchorage, Alaska his home. He retired as Major Brown in Anchorage, Alaska. He achieved the highest level of education with a Doctor in Philosophy. He never bragged about his education accomplishments, because he made known nothing could compare to his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was full of the Word of God. One of his favorite

scriptures was Psalm 27: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Pastor Leon founded Agape Worship Center in 1989. He is known for his unique teaching and preaching style by using a big chalk board for illustrations. He was a father to many individuals. He was known as papa, dad, pastor Leon, Pastor Brown and Apostle Brown.

He served faithfully under the apostolic oversight of Pastor Thamo Naidoo, the presiding elder of the GATE Global Family Churches in South Africa where he ministered to

numerous faith communities.

Pastor Leon was preceded in death by his previous wife, Hendrika Slot of 40 years, his mother, Mabel Jackson, father, Willie Brown, nine siblings Leroy, Willie, Joe, Ulysses,

Theodore, Juanita, Mary, Sally, Annie, (Baby )Charles Brown, oldest son, Leonus Brown, granddaughter Deanna D Brown. He leaves to cherish is legacy, his wife Mary Wells-Brown, his four children, Timothy Brown (Deanne) (Anchorage), Rochelle Showers-Sims (Maryland) Nicholas Showers-Glover (Anchorage), Matthew Ward (Anchorage) A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
