I just found this notice today on 4/8/2020. Many years ago, I was one of Leon's doctors. He was an extremely sweet and memorable man, always very kind to me. Our visits were very enjoyable, I think, to both of us. I seem to recall he was a P-51 fighter plane guy, quite possibly a pilot. We did talk quite a bit about the war, though I cannot remember much of that. He encouraged me to wear the Elgin pocket watch that my wife gave to me in 1977 for our wedding. Because of a list of serial numbers that Leon was able to produce, we determined that this watch was made in 1911. He gave me a watch chain of his to encourage me to wear the watch. I recently got the watch out, which still runs, but gains ~2 minutes/day despite adjustment of the regulator. Because of his encouragement, I'm going to have it serviced...he would have liked that. A very sweet guy that I hope to meet again in heaven.

Peace and eternal happiness to you.
You are why I enlisted in the Air Force, and that changed the path of my life in so many ways, ones that made me a better man.
It was an honor to know you.
