Leon Burroughs Obituary
Leon graduated from Wilson Hall High School in 1964 and entered the Army soon after graduation. He worked for South Central Bell now known as AT&T for over 30 years before retiring. Leon was well known on and off the job; he never met a stranger. He enjoyed being with his family, friends, Mardi Gras celebrations, and family gatherings.
Leon transitioned on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at USA Medical Center, Hospice unit.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Wanda Love Burroughs; two sons Jan Burroughs of Stone Mountain GA, Brandon Burroughs (Amber Golson) of Riverview, Fl; two daughters Tikishia and Taunja Burroughs. Eight grandchildren Nijian Coker, Cateria Murphy, Brenisha, Cedric and Cameron Burroughs of Mobile; Jan Burroughs Pollard of Atlanta GA, Brionna and Jordan Burroughs of Riverview, FL. One brother, Ben(Floretta) Burroughs of Frisco City AL; one sister Dulsie Arrington of Mobile, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother W.S. Burroughs, three sisters, Alisa Mae Burroughs, Willie Clyde Burroughs and Una Belle Creighton.

Leon was a great asset to the Wilson Hall community in Grove Hill, Alabama. He kept us informed about our friends and classmates throughout the years of our hometown. Leon never missed a class or school reunion. We were classmates. He will be truly missed.
