Leon Cheatom Obituary
Leon Samuel Cheatom, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 4, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. He was born December 10, 1938, in Silver Springs, Florida, to Charles W. Cheatom and Florence Gray Cheatom.
He worked as a Captain for the Marion County Sheriff's office and was a manager for Silver Springs Park for 55 years. He is preceded by his parents Charles and Florence Cheatom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty Peebles Cheatom; daughter, Tammy Leger (Joe); grandchildren Michael and Chandra; 1 great grandson, Henry, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Highlands Baptist Church in Ocala. Private inurnment will take place at Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
