Leon Richard Cirou was born October 29, 1927 in Nokomis, FL, and passed away Thursday, April 14th, 2016 in Naples, FL. Leon Cirou was known as "Corky" to all who knew him. His beloved wife Doris preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Phil, and is survived by his brothers Frank and Tom Cirou. Corky is survived by his son Steven and his wife Talitha Cirou, and their sons Branden and Skylar Cirou, son Michael and wife Christine Cirou, and their children, Christopher, Andrew, and Kale Cirou, daughter, Maria Cirou-Cerneck and her husband Mike Cerneck, and granddaughter Kathleen Robinson, and daughter Theresa Cirou-Gumpert and her husband Frank Gumpert and their sons Frank and Luke Gumpert; 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion of 3 years Kathy Mariani. Corky served in the Coast Guard. He was a longtime resident and business owner of Collier County. Corky was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. He was known for his love of family, hard work ethic, great cooking and wonderful storytelling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 19th at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Naples Memorial Gardens directly after Mass.
