Leon H. Floyd

Leon H. Floyd, age 87, of Hatfield, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born March 9, 1922 in Hatfield, Arkansas to the late John Kimsey Floyd and the late Florence Eliza Lacey Floyd. He was united in marriage March 18, 1988 in Tahoe, California to Josephine Anders. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Floyd was a Senior Public Works Supervisor for the City of Oaklawn, California. He was a member of the Public Retirement Employees and theVFW and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, step father and friend. Survivors are: Wife: Josephine Floyd of Hatfield, Arkansas Sons: Gary L. Floyd of Henderson, Nevada Dennis John Floyd of San Diego, California Alan James Floyd of North Carolina Sister: Dorothy Southern of Mena, Arkansas Step Daughter: Judy Looney of Gillette, Wyoming 6 Grandchildren 1 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence Floyd and her brothers, Kimsey, Argus and Marcus Floyd. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Norbert Rappold as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said Monday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Bob Patterson, Larry Paul Floyd, Tommy Floyd, Ronny Floyd, Harman Janssen, Jim Pittingoro and Tom Deters.
