Leon "Aubrey" Gilbert

Funeral service for Leon "Aubrey" Gilbert will be held 11am Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Rev. Blake Edmondson and Rev. Cary Humphrey will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am until time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gilbert, 64 of Hokes Bluff was called home by his heavenly father on June 20, 2025 at his home.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Leon and Sue Gilbert.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Melissa Gilbert; mother-in-law, Rebecca Reynolds; brother-in-law, Cary (Linda) Humphrey; sister-in-law, Paula Jones; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.
Mr. Gilbert was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He traveled to different churches singing with several Gospel Groups. He also loved singing in church with his wife, niece Lexi Jones, and nephew, Larry (Chloie) Jones. He loved his aunt Louises homemade chicken noodle soup. He also enjoyed many holidays and family gatherings at his niece, Brook Johnson's home with family.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
