Mr. Leon Kopf

Leon E. Kopf, Jr., age 76, of Foley, AL, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Foley, AL. He was born on November 26, 1936 in Mobile, AL to his parents, Leon and Celestine Kopf, Sr.. Leon was the third of four children. He married Elaine Farnell in Mobile, AL on January 26, 1957. They had four children. He graduated from Mobile College and received a Master's from the University of South Alabama. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard for 8 years. He served as a pastor for several southern Baptist Churches for 20 years. He was a current resident of Foley. He was employed by Strickland Youth Center as a Juvenile Probation Officer for 14 years. Leon was a member of First Baptist Church of Foley. He enjoyed preaching, fishing and hunting. Leon will be remembered by his loving wife, Elaine and their children: Ellen (David) Parker, Darren (Fay) Kopf and Angela (Jeff) Harlan; Daughter in Law, Janet Kopf, 10 grandchildren, Chris (Kimberly) Parker, Joey Kopf, Michael (Rebecca) Parker, Scott (Sabrina) Kopf, Alex Kopf, Matthew Kopf, Daniel Kopf, Kitty Harris, Lauren Kopf and Kenneth Harris; two great grandhildren and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and one son, Lee Kopf. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 am until 10 am and a funeral for Leon at 10 am on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Pine Crest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Leon's name to your favorite charity.
