Mr. Leyson was my high school machine shop teacher at HuntingtonPark High School, I learned so much from him. A true master of his trade, I am honored to have had him as a teacher and friend.

To all of you who have posted here, know that it was seen and appreciated! He touched our lives, all those he met and many who he never met with light and humor and kindness and generosity of spirit. We were lucky.

Deepest Sympathy to him and his family, Leon I had the deepest honor to read "The Boy on The Wooden Box" which was probably the most touching emotionally empowering book I have ever read. You were an amazing part of history and may God welcome you with open arms

His story remains with me: I once had the honor to hear him speak. One could tell that he had a beautiful soul. His is a story of overcoming trauma with grace and dignity. My sincere condolences to his family. Shalom.

My father, Sol Swack, used to play tennis with Leon. Dad (now 90) absolutely loved him-would always talk about him, and would always add "he's a great guy". And he told me all about his story (which I also read in a book about the Jews rescued by Schindler). May he rest in peace.

I pray God's mercy and grace cover this family. What a life Mr. Leyson has lived. Surely God spared him to tell his story as it is obvious in this reading he had a loving heart and shared warmth. The Holocost always interested me as my father fought in the war and we would watch those movies. When watching Schindler's list I could only cry. I pray the world never forgets the Holocost because of the tremendous loss and hopefully it would never happen again to any generation. I would love to have met Mr. Leyson. What a REWARD he now has.....

What a terrible thing to allow the Hollocaust to happen. I am always so sadden by these events that took place and still now feel the effects just like slavery. Rest in peace Mr. Lesson until its time to reunite with your family.

Dear Family of Mr.Leon Leyson, I read with interest Mr. Leyson's obituary because I never knew he existed. But I have heard of the Holocaust and the horrible things that took place. Yet when I look at your fathers face I don't see hatred but a look of peace. May you also have peace knowing that all the nightmares have stopped for he is resting asleep as John 11:11 describes death. There will be a time when there will be no hatred and war. It will come. May this thought comfort you as it does me.
