Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors, Inc. - PhiladelphiaIt is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Leon H.Lubowitz, age 97, of Philadelphia, PA, Loveladies, NJ, and Delray Beach, FL, who peacefully left this world on November 18, 2025, surrounded by family. A remarkable man of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and endless kindness, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Born in Camden, NJ, Lee proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, where he served as an Aerial photographer and sharpshooter during World War II.
After returning home, Lee married the love of his life, Harriet, with whom he shared 68 years of devotion, partnership, love and laughter. Together they built a home filled with love with their two daughters, Karol and Bonnie.
A beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather, Lee cherished time with his family above all else.
For most of his life Lee was an avid sportsman, who always felt at home in the water. Whether it was crabbing, clamming, fishing with his friends or family, or cleaning his beloved Grady White boat, he was always “ready to go” and was always willing to mentor those with him and teach them the ways of the water.
Lee was always “the rock” that friends and family felt comfortable going to for advice on all life topics, in a supportive and encouraging manner.
Lee was extremely proud of his 50+ years of service for the Leonard Forman Masonic Lodge where he served as a Past Master.
Lee is survived by his wife Harriet, daughters Karol and Bonnie, son in laws Guy and Gary, grandchildren Bryan, Taylor, Jake, Lindsey, Samantha, Hanna, Max and Patrick, and great grandchildren Ella, Noah and Oliver, who will forever hold the memory of “Poppy” close to their hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 12:00pm at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Burial to follow at Montefiore Cemetery, 600 Church Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
