NIEWOIT, Leon, F., January 25, 2018 Age 86. Beloved husband of the late Carol (1996) for 42 cherished years. Loving father of Deborah (Fred) Hakim, Denise (Tim McEvoy) Kacir, Leon (Julie) Doreen (Ed) Lapierre, David (Sunday), Dawn (Pat) Lucas, and Dan (Laura). Proud grandfather of Jennifer, Sarah, Krissy, Leon, Jason, Joshua, Luke, Hannah, Rachael, Elijah, Daniel, Zachary, and great-grandfather of Carol-Sue, Martin, Amira, Kendall, and Brody. Dear brother of Mary Jo, Dan, and John. Predeceased by his siblings June, Sandra, and Bill. Also survived by his adored dog Buster. Leon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean War. Leon enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid Detroit sports fan. For many years he volunteered his time for the Shrine Circus but spending time with, and enjoying his family was his favorite past time. Visitation Monday 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Tuesday instate 10am at Faith Lutheran Church 37635 Dequinder (Btw 16 & 17 Mile Rds) until time of funeral service 11am. Interment Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Leon's honor woud be appreciated to either: Shriner's Hospital for Children or to Beaumont Hospice.
