Leon was born in Hurricane, Utah February 23, 1934, to Victor Leon Sylvester and Sarah Elizabeth Roundy. He passed away March 17, 2025. He was 91.
His mom died when he was 4 years old and he was raised by sisters and his Grandpa and Grandma Roundy. He got his love for church service from his Grandpa Roundy. he loved scouting, and the Spanish Branch. He participated in the Lamanite program and didn’t take just one to live with his family he took 2 at a time. He rode his jazzy to church and passed away that evening. He went to school at BYU and loved watching their ballgames. He was in the army and then served a mission in Mexico. He married Susanna Wittwer June 3, 1961. He got a teaching job in Coalville, Utah and they made great friends there. They moved to Fillmore, Utah and he taught school there. When he retired he taught in New Mexico, then moved back to Fillmore and worked for the Post Office. He loved doing puzzles and watching birds.
He is survived by 9 children Debra Barton (Russ), Drue (Kelly) Victor (Dawnette) Jared (Christine) Leisyl Simpson (Dave) Jeanne McDonald (John) Jesse, James (Catherine), John (Michele), 17 grandkids and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Fillmore 1st and 4th Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. The funeral will be streamed and available at this link: https://youtube.com/live/4DyLZpc7BzA?feature=share
