Leonard Block

It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved father, Leonard Block. He welcomed in the new year last night and actually celebrated, we got him out of bed and into a chair. He asked for some water, said thank you and minutes letter he closed his eyes and was gone. He lived to the ripe old age of 96.

-What a gift! What a blessing…he lived a long, healthy meaningful life!! I want to express how fortunate I was to have him…he's been my best friend, confidant and biggest supporter for the last 25 years. How lucky I've been!

-He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and his example of commitment to family. He was a very rich man. He had all the things in life that matter – health, family, friends, companionship and success.

-Lenny was cherished by family and friends. He'll be remembered for his charm and warmth. His superpower was his personality. What made him so special as a human being was his ability to make others smile. If he could make someone smile and laugh, that brought him true joy and happiness. I have found that to be such a rare and beautiful quality.

-What made him so special was the uplifting, positive impact he left on almost everyone he met - from intimate friends to total strangers. For years I was the benefit of all that "good will." All I had to do was mention "Lenny Block was my dad" and without hesitation a smile would appear on the face of whoever I was addressing, with the typical next words "What a nice man, what a fine gentleman" being said.
