Leonard Brudzinski

Leonard P. Brudzinski passed October 30, 2024, at the age of 97. He was born on January 31, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Philomena Brudzynski. He was raised in Detroit with his parents and siblings. Leonard was preceded in death by his two sisters and three brothers, Sophia, Virginia, Richard, Norbert and Edward Jr.
Beloved husband of Francisca for 67 years. Loving father of Cynthia (Frederick) Chapman, Michael Brudzinski, Kenneth (fiancé Patricia Sokolowski) Brudzinski, the late Thomas Brudzinski, and James (Karen) Brudzinski. Dearest grandfather of Kim, Missy (Justin), Rick (Kristin), Tom (Brynn), Rachel, Martin (Christine),Connor, Sara, Andrew, Sydney, Parker, Hunter and Mason. Dear great-grandfather of Riley, Nolan, Hayden, Allison, Lucas, Phoebe, Hailee and Hope. Dear Uncle, to numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from St. Casimir Catholic High School in Detroit where he held numerous responsibilities during his time there. He also lettered in basketball and baseball.
Leonard proudly served in the US Army during World War II, stationed at Schofield Barracks, in Honolulu, Hawaii where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and served as an Office Administrator. After the war, he went to work for National Bank of Detroit and spent his entire 43 year career with the bank. He ended his career in 1990 spending the last 27 as the Branch Manager of the Garden City Office on Ford Road. During the early part of his career at the bank he met his future wife, Francisca, and was married for 67 wonderful years.
He loved bowling, golf, traveling, and hanging out with friends in Florida every winter and spent the last 32 years in northern Michigan in retirement on the lake. He loved his family especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will take place Wednesday, December 11, 2024, instate 10:00am until the time of mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N. Territorial Rd. Plymouth, MI 48170. A private inurnment will take place with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be specified to American Lung Association.
