Leonard D. "Lennie" Bryan

Leonard D. "Lennie" Bryan, age 80, of Logan, IA, and formerly of Council Bluffs, passed away at his home on October 28, 2025.

Lennie was born in Onawa, IA, on July 1, 1945, to the late Leonard M. and Ethel M. (Haynie) Bryan. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the Class of 1963. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Wood) and have spent the last 60 years together.

Lennie worked as a Pressman for the Omaha World Herald for 42 years. His hobbies include, fishing, especially at his cabin on Big Stone Lake, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. Lennie was a man who loved to laugh and enjoyed life.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his baby brother, Lonnie; son, Steven; grandbaby, Doug; and brother, David Bryan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, of Logan; daughters, Traci Bates (Jason), of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Cari Maresch (Rex), Logan; grandchildren, Makenzie Bates, Conner Bates (Brianna), Mary Beth Smelser (Mike), Jacob Smelser, Madison Noriega (Peter), Kaitlyn Henderson, Brad Lopez (Emili); nine great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Doughman (Jerry), of Texas; brother, Norm Bryan (Arlene); sister-in-law, Jeanne Bryan, all of Council Bluffs; nieces; nephews; in-laws and many other family and friends.

Visitation, Saturday 9 to 10 a.m., followed by funeral service at 10 a.m., at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow the service at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce Street.
