Leonard Hatch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parsell Funeral Homes-Atkins-Lodge Chapel - Lewes on Apr. 18, 2025.
Leonard S. "Lenny" Hatch, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewes, DE, on April 15, 2025, following a short illness. Born on November 10, 1938, in Morristown, NJ, he was a man who lived a full and vibrant life.
Lenny served his country with pride as a member of the United States Navy and later brought his strong work ethic to his father William Hatch's garage, where he honed his skills as a mechanic. His journey continued as a truck driver for Home Depot, where his colleagues knew him for his reliability and good humor.
Outside of work, Lenny's passions were fishing and hunting, activities he found both relaxing and invigorating. He was also known for his love of playing poker with friends and engaging in the scrap metal business, which showcased his entrepreneurial spirit.
Family was the cornerstone of Lenny's existence. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Hatch, whom he married on the Beach in Barbados in 1997, and their blended family that was dear to him: sons Leonard, David, Christopher, and Bryan Hatch; daughters Laurie Smith and Kristina Oliver; stepsons Scott Price, Charles Marone, and Roland Price; and stepdaughter Michelle Di Pinto. The legacy of his love extends to his 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who will miss his stories and wisdom. Lenny was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Hatch, and his parents, Maude (Love) Hatch and William Hatch.
Lenny's life story is one of dedication and zest, and he will forever be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lenny's honor may be Tunnel to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org/donate/.
