Leonard Johnson Obituary
GUILDERLAND - Leonard C. Johnson, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Daughters of Sarah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. in Albany.
Born on May 5, 1939, in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Mildred Cummings. Leonard was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College.
Leonard was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal. He also served as a past member of the Board of Directors for the LaSalle School for Boys on Western Avenue in Albany.
Leonard loved tennis, golf, and skiing, pursuits that reflected his energetic spirit and appreciation for life.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Osborne Johnson, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He was a devoted husband, and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. A funeral home service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made in Leonard's name to the LaSalle School for Boys, 391 Western Ave., Albany 12203. Online condolence may be offered at wjlyonsfuneralhome.com
