Dr. Leonard Kaufman

Dr. Leonard Kaufman, 93, beloved husband of the late Lois, happily married for 67 years; loving father of Shari Vincent, Melissa Kaufman (Paul Vandegrift), and Alan (Julie) Kaufman; cherished grandfather of Robert (Christin), Jennifer and Mathew Kaufman; adored great-grandfather of Nora and Hannah; devoted son of the late Sylvia and Abraham Kaufman; dear brother of the late Joel Kaufman; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Leonard was a proud Radiologist for more than 50 years, dedicating his life to caring for others through his work. Later in life, he found great joy in teaching at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he shared both his knowledge and his passion for medicine with the next generation.

He loved skiing and sailing and remained an avid chess player until the very end. Leonard delighted in sushi and in exploring ethnic and exotic foods, always savoring the adventures they brought.

Above all, Leonard had an extraordinary love for his wife, Lois. She was his best friend, his partner, and his everything. His greatest joy in life was his family, who will forever cherish the warmth, curiosity, and love he brought into their lives.
