Leonard Olup Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Dec. 20, 2025.
Leonard Richard Olup passed away in a devastating house fire November 24, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1961, and was 64 years old. He was currently battling Dementia and was not getting any better.
Len was the proud son of Leonard Richard Olup Sr. and Mary Olup, a feisty Polish woman who raised him within a large, loving Polish family. He is survived by his sister, Maryanne Schultheis (David), nephew Dave Schultheis, niece Heather Taylor (married with two children), and daughter Amber Gates (married with two children, Evie and Arlo Brother and sister-in-law Tony and Roxanne Lee and nephews Brian Lee and sons Anthony and Marcus, David Lee and daughter Payton, and niece Jessica and Trevor and daughter Nora and nephew Vincent and great nieces Zia, Crystal and Payton
Born in Brooklyn Curtis Bay, MD, Len was a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan, cherishing players like Mike Mussina, Brooks Robinson, and 'the Blade.' Attending a World Series playoff was a dream of his.
He met his wife, Jacki, while working at the Renaissance Hotel. They lived in Canton before settling in Hamilton for nearly 26 years.
Len dedicated his career to the service industry, working at Phillips Harborplace, Windows at Renaissance, Della Notte, Nacho Mamas, Putty Hill Station, and the Hilton Inner Harbor. He valued the many friends he made, particularly Jim Lamdin, Steve Dutscher, Dan, and Doug. These guys were inseparable. Since then, we have a new group of friends who are just as special Johnny and Tony Forte, Jim Whitmore, Tony Campo, Jay, Teresa, Nancy, Howard, David, Paul, Jim, Charisse, Kiki
Len's absolute favorite place to be was New Orleans Louisiana. He's probably been down there over 30 times. To various festivals, Halloween, Mardi Gras, spring, summer, fall and winter. Any time was a good time. If it was his choice that would be home.
