LEONARD M. ROSENFELD on December 28, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Sallie (nee Cole); Loving father of Gregg Rosenfeld (Sheri Gordon), Kenneth Rosenfeld (Jennifer), and Karen Rosenfeld; Devoted grandfather of Mia.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Leonard was a graduate of Simon Gratz H.S. and The Univ. of PA. He attended Jefferson Medical College and after graduation he began a four plus decade career at Jefferson as a Physiologist, Professor and Assistant Dean. Leonard was highly engaged in a myriad of scientific, community and civic activities. He was President of The PA Academy of Science. Leonard was elected and served as President of the Abington Board of School Directors. He was Master of the William Hackenberg Lodge. Leonard was instrumental in the founding of the Graduate Student Assoc. at Jefferson College of Life Sciences and the Glaucoma Service Foundation at Wills Eye Hosp. Since retirement Leonard has devoted much of his efforts towards The Franklin Institute, particularly The Committee of Science and the Arts and The Franklin Awards Program. In all these roles and activities Leonard relished the opportunity to act as mentor, advisor and friend, touching the lives of thousands of people.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Wednesday, 10:30 AM precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors Inc., 6410 N. Broad St., Phila., PA. Masonic service will be at 10:20 AM. Int. Roosevelt Mem. Park. Shiva will be observed at the home of Gregg and Sheri Thursday Night Only. Contributions in his memory may be made to Ann & George L.
