RUTLEDGE, Leonard K. Sr. Of East Boston, October 24, 2023. He was 86 years old. Devoted son of the late Arthur Rutledge and Nora Connolly; beloved husband of Joan Y. (Doucette) Rutledge for over 67 years; dear and devoted father of Doreen Constantine (John) of Haverhill, Leonard K. Rutledge, Jr. of Southern NH and Holly Gandolfo (James) of Charlestown; dear brother of Ann Nazzaro of Malden and predeceased by seven siblings; loving grandfather of Nicole Neveu and her husband, Raymond, Alexandra Gandolfo (Adolfo Feuchter), Jamie Constantine and her partner, Ashley Paris, Shannon Zimmerman (Bobby) and Samantha Gandolfo; and loving great-grandfather of Oliver Neveu, Olivia Zimmerman and Orion Neveu. He is also survived by his dearest friends, Kevin and Lynn Leonard. Family and friends will honor Lenny's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., EAST BOSTON, on Sunday, October 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., and again on Monday, at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston at 10 a.m. His services will conclude with Military Honors presented by the U.S. Marine Corps at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions in Leonard's memory to the American Heart Association, 93 Worcester St., Wellesley, MA 02481 would be sincerely appreciated.

We have been neighbors for many years. Lenny has always been the rock that kept things together. He shared his unconditional love to everyone who opened their hearts to him. I can't imagine not seeing his smiling face. I'm heartbroken... My condolences Joanie, his beautiful bride (is how he always referred to her ) He will never be forgotten.

Memories!
I remember in my younger day going to the cottage one weekend with Holly and jimmy to lend a helping hand with Lenny put in a new roof ! I should have more smart and put on sun lotion Burn baby burn ! All I remember from that day was Lenny saying over and over again
You ok Paulie up and down the ladder w shingles as I was cooking in the sun ! Laughter was the tone of the day !
I still can hear his Voice saying

I´m so saddened over the passing of my beloved neighbor and friend, Lenny. He was the sweetest, most generous man and he helped me in more ways than I can count with his humor and kindness over the years. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
