LeRoy David Lepper
March 7, 1941 - August 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of LeRoy "Lee" David Lepper at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by love.
Lee was born and raised in
International Falls, MN. Polio struck him when he was five years old. He spent much time over the years at Gillette Children's Hospital. Lee passed the time by reading, which fostered his love of literature and poetry.
He graduated from Falls High School in 1959 and from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1966 with degrees in finance and history. He managed Falls Federal Savings and Loan in International Falls before finishing his career at TruStar Federal Credit Union.
Lee married his college sweetheart and love of his life, Trudy Boitz, on August 20, 1966. They spent the next 59 years together, raising a family of their own and then enjoying their beautiful grandchildren. They spent many years traveling together and wintered for 14 years in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. In 2019, Lee and Trudy moved to Cornerstone Cooperative in Plymouth, MN where they became part of the caring and loving "Cornerstone Family."
Lee was a strong, kind man with a deep commitment to family. He had a sense of humor that left everyone laughing. He developed his love of gardening while working for the City of International Falls in the summers during high school. He also enjoyed poetry, wood carving, playing cards and photography. He was a history buff, who enjoyed learning about the history and culture of places he and Trudy visited. He had a beautiful singing voice, singing in the church choir for many years and entertaining his family and friends. He had the ability to make every person he met feel important.
Lee was a member of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Board of Directors, Cemetery Association and Adult Choir, Knights of Columbus, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Elks Lodge #1599 and he was a Boy Scout Den Leader.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy; daughter, Jamie (Nick) Honigman; son, Jay (Natasha) Lepper; grandchildren, Tucker, Rowan, Piper, Zack, Josh, Brynn, and Sam; nieces, Tiffany (Ty) Ruff and Tracey (Justin) Tierney; brother and sister- in- law, Jim and Judy Boitz; cousin and deer hunting buddy at the Lepper Jagerhutte (hunting shack), Butch Lepper and many other close family and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents Clemence and Virginia (Galipeau) Lepper, sister, Gail Barstad and brother & sister in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Carol Lepper.
Lee's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many others whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived his life and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A celebration of Lee's life will be held at the Elk's Club in International Falls on October 25th beginning at 12:00 pm.
