Leroy Nickles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Services, P.C. - Turbotville on Feb. 8, 2026.
Leroy D. Nickles, 82, of Lewis Twp., Muncy, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his home.

Born July 6, 1943 in Strawberry Ridge, he was the son of the late Norman C. and Edith M. (Hack) Nickles. On November 24, 1973 he married the former Roberta "Bobbi" L. Weaver and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Leroy was a graduate of Danville High School and Ft. Lauderdale University receiving a bachelors degree in accounting. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Marine Corps; Leroy was the embodiment of the USMC motto "Semper Fidelis", ever faithful to God, country, family and friends. Leroy worked at Girton Manufacturing in Millville, then Interstate Motor Freight and later retiring from TRW in Danville.

He attended the Salvation Army in Milton. Leroy was a very selfless man, always willing to help people in need and sharing his home with foster children. He was a very patient and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Leroy enjoyed hunting, fishing, reloading and long-range shooting. He also loved sharing his hobbies with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Bobbi, he is survived by three children: Chuck Nickles, Michael Nickles and his wife Laurel, and Monika Nickles and her husband Paul Barrese; two grandsons; Kevin Nickles and his wife Missy, and Matthew Nickles; four great-grandchildren: Mackenzi, Kiera, Reagan, and Logan Nickles; four sisters: Shirley Bartlett, Dorothy Englehart, Maxine Rodkey, and Linda Heffelfinger; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Cotner.

There will be a viewing held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 12 and from 10:30-11am on Friday, Feb. 13 at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St, Turbotville, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with Kim and Dwayne Harris, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow on Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in his memory be made to your local veteran organization or to the Salvation Army in Milton.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Geisinger Muncy Oncology, Lewisburg VNA, Nurses Miriam and Trish who became very close friends and Dr Passi, for their wonderful care of Leroy. They also would like to extend a big thank you to his caregivers, Kim, Donna, Rochelle, and Susie.
