Marjorie Johnson Obituary

Marjorie C. Johnson, 90, passed away Dec. 31, 2012, in her home of natural causes. She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Utica, Kan., to Albert and Mattie Selby. Marjorie married Randolph Earl Johnson Sr. April 18, 1942. She was a homemaker for many years until 1968 when she began a second career working for the Adams County Library. She retired in 1991.
Marjorie enjoyed the little things in life, like her coffee and sweets. As a female basketball athlete she continued her love for the game through the age of 80 when she would play HORSE (a basketball game) with her grandchildren.
She loved to garden and spend time with the horses. She was an accomplished pianist and singer and until she was physically unable, she shared her talents playing every Sunday for the James Memorial United Methodist Church in Hudson.
Most of all, she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Randolph Earl Johnson Sr., daughter Nancy G. Boan, eight brothers and sisters, and grandson Aaron Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Randolph Earl Johnson Jr. (Lucinda), of Montrose, daughter Ellen Barnes (Bruce), of Brighton, and daughter Sara McMillan (Larry), of Fort Lupton. Survivors also include 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service took place Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at James Memorial United Methodist Church, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Marjorie's beloved church, PO Box 26, Hudson, CO 80642. Collected donations will be dispersed accordingly to Marjorie's specifications between the Church and research for the care and cure of Macular Degeneration.
Today, we say goodbye to a true angel walking among us. She will never be forgotten as she lives in a special place in our hearts.
We love you, Mother, Grandma Marjorie, Great Grandma Marjorie and Great-great Grandma Marjorie.
We will meet again. As Marjorie would often say, "See you later alligator."
