Lesley M. McLear

Lesley Margaret McLear (Dunford), 76, of Washington, Michigan, passed away on March 10, 2026, after a motorcycle accident involving her husband and high school sweetheart, George. She passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side.

Born in Hastings, Sussex, England, Lesley spent her early childhood there before journeying to America aboard the SS Île-de-France. Her family eventually settled in Warren, Michigan, where she grew up and graduated from Centerline High School. She began her career as a legal secretary, but her most cherished role was being a stay-at-home mom. Lesley never hesitated to take on extra jobs to ensure her children received the very best.

Lesley married her high school sweetheart, George McLear, and together they built a life centered around family, love, and adventure. Her greatest pride came from her children, Eric and Kelly, and she found immense joy in being "Nana" to Neela, Ryder, and Emelia. She loved entertaining, bowling, golfing, cooking, softball and riding her Fat Boy Harley with George.

Lesley lived life to the fullest, was adventurous, and was always up for trying something new. She was never one to turn down a dare. She was funny, talkative, loving, faithful, and constantly on the move. She worked incredibly hard, cared deeply, and wore her heart on her sleeve. She had extensive knowledge of homemaking and raising children, but her most admirable quality was her unwavering willingness to help anyone.

Lesley was preceded in death by Ron Scribner Sr., Stanley Dunford, Ella Dunford, and her beloved husband, George McLear. She is survived by her son, Eric McLear, his wife, Tiffany, their daughter, Emelia, and their dog, T-Bone; her daughter, Kelly Duda, her husband, Tim, their children, Neela and Ryder, and their dog, Theo; her sister, Beverly Dunford (Scribner), and her children, Ronnie and Kevin; and her brother, Larry Dunford, his wife, Margaret, and their children, Ashley and Kris.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2026 at the Crimson Hills Event Center at Big Red Apple Orchard, 4900 32 Mile Road, Washington, MI 48095. Open house & gathering from 1:00-2:00, Tribute & Slideshow honoring George & Lesley Mc Lear from 2:00-2:45, Celebration of Life Reception from 2:45-4:30.

She will be forever remembered and deeply missed as a loving mother, sister, and friend.
